Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (F.H.T.M.) of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) organized the third session of this semester’s Distinguished Scholar Forum of Hospitality and Tourism on October 31, 2023. Professor Heesup Han from Sejong University in South Korea, was invited as the speaker. Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of F.H.T.M., Professor Timothy Lee, Vice Dean of F.H.T.M., Assistant Dean and Associate Professor Zhang Yang, Assistant Dean and Associate Professor Wong Weng Chou, Program Director Yang Chieh-Yun, and more than 120 teachers and students attended the lecture via Zoom. This lecture was sponsored by Macao Foundation.
Professor Heesup Han Gave A Lecture
On behalf of the teachers and students, Dean Ben K. Goh extended a warm welcome to Professor Heesup Han. Professor Heesup Han is one of the most prolific researchers in the realm of hospitality and tourism, having published more than 300 academic papers over the years. With his extensive experience in writing and publishing papers and in-depth research in the field of hospitality and tourism management, he will certainly bring constructive suggestions and inspiration to students.

By combining specific paper examples with academic knowledge, Professor Heesup Han shared his personal and active discussion on how to simplify the process of paper publishing. He encourages students to observe and reflect carefully in their daily lives, and discover research topics that are prospective research topics under the realm of hospitality and tourism management. In addition, Professor Heesup Han hopes that students can actively practice paper writing, strive to publish their own academic papers, and maintain a positive exploration and love for their academic career.
In the Q&A session, Professor Heesup Han provides answers and guidance on how to integrate the search for research topics with their personal lives and interests. He also addresses how to determine the feasibility of research ideas, drawing from his personal experience to offer suggestions and clarify any confusion for the students. The lecture concluded successfully with intense discussion between Professor Heesup Han and the students.
