In December 27—29, 2013, the 2nd China College Forum on World Heritage Sites Protection and Conservation was hold in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province. The forum had two sections revolving around World Heritage sites: contest of propositions on conservation and sustainable development, and that of propaganda campaign. In total, 16 teams representing different universities from Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland attended the event.
Standing out from other higher education institutes in Macau, delegates of MUST went to Zhangjiajie for the final round. The MUST team consists of three postgraduates from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Dr. Libo Yan is their advisor. Delegates include captain Yang Wei, Mo Meiying, and Ye Min. Their proposition was entitled “Cultural creative activities and the sustainable development of World Heritage Sites: A case of Macau”. Having overcome kinds of difficulties, the MUST delegates finally received an excellence award from the forum committee. They stated that they benefited a lot from participating in the contest as well as communicating with academics and peers from other universities.
