Over 200 graduates and about fifty parents attended the Faculty Graduation Ceremony on June 7, 2014. The ceremony started with the high-profile procession of the platform party members from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management. The distinguished guests included Graham Blakey (Director of Imagine), Distinguished Guest Professor Michael Parnwell, Norman MacKillop (Assistant Vice President of Galaxy Entertainment) and Chris Wieners (Managing Director of Hogo Digital). Dean Hitchcock extended best wishes in both English and Cantonese, and was followed by Norman MacKillop who spoke about his own personal experiences of education. He also spoke in a mixture of English and Cantonese. Chris Wieners spoke next about his experiences in the hospitality and IT sectors and urged the students not to fear competition. Dr. Pan Su Ying as faculty representative asked graduates to set aims for what they want to achieve by the age of fifty. Mo Shen Yu spoke for the graduates and presented a scroll with graduates’ signatures to faculty as a gift. Finally, the ceremony ended with group photo taking and the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
