MUST Faculty of Humanities and Arts Held Opening Ceremony for the 2016 Graduation Works Exhibition

The Faculty of Humanities and Arts, M.U.S.T. held the Opening Ceremony for the “2016 Graduation Works Exhibition” at the library building of the University in the afternoon of April 28; the works were revealed and opened for display at the lobby of the library building and Room N108.

The officiating guests who attended the Opening Ceremony include Deputy Director Guo Jian Bin of the Department of Culture and Education, the Liaison Office of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao S.A.R., Mr. Ung Vai Meng, President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R., Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macau Government Tourism Office, Mr. Yang Da Ming, President of A.M. Painting Macao, Mr Lam Chi Ian, Creative Director of Macao Creations, Ms. Maria Moura, Member of the Union for International Design of Macao, Chair Professor Liu Liang, President of M.U.S.T., and Dr. Tong Ka Lok, Vice President of M.U.S.T..
President Liu Liang addressed the Opening Ceremony, noting that Macau is currently making major efforts in advancing its cultural creative industry and soon new urban space will emerge out of the Lingding Channel; President Liu called for the teachers and students of the design program to take advantage of the timely opportunity, improve the education, and move forward the integration of industry, education, and research.

Following the Opening Ceremony, the supervisors for the graduation works took the guests on a tour of the “2016 Graduation Works Exhibition, Faculty of Humanities and Arts, M.U.S.T.”. About 20 scholars, designers, and artists from Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Jiangnan University, Shantou University, China Academy of Art, Nanjing Arts University, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Shandong University of Arts, Guangdong Museum of Art, Asia University, Taiwan, and Macau attended the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition.

This year’s exhibition uses “Must Design” as the theme; the works on display contain 48 design pieces from three majors: landscape design, interior design, and product design. Works of the landscape design envision a traffic complex at the boarder gate to address Macau’s urban transportation challenges and present a profound assessment on the plan for rehabilitation of the Red Forest wetland ecology; works of the interior design attempts to take different perspectives in approaching, designing, and solving problems of interior design, striking a balance between sense and sensibility in pursuing the best recognition for constructions and interior spaces; works of the product design major tap such areas as household products, health monitoring and management systems, and interactive products.

The Exhibition runs 9:00 am to 6:00 pm till June 11, 2016 (excluding public holidays). The University welcomes the public to come and enjoy the Exhibition.
