On December 7, 2023, the "Stay Ahead and Embrace Your Future Career” seminar was successfully held at the N101 Auditorium of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.). It was jointly organized by the Accounting Professional Committee of the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Cooperation Promotion Association (Macao Area), and the Macau Accounting Professionals Association. The seminar, which was also co-organized by the School of Business of M.U.S.T. and sponsored by the Macau Foundation, brought together industry professionals and students for a fruitful session of discussions and learning. The seminar garnered the participation of over 200 teachers and students from leading institutions, including Macau University of Science and Technology, University of Macau, City University of Macau, and Macau Polytechnic University, as well as professionals from the accounting industry.
The seminar focused on talent services, employment support, industry exploration, and career development analysis. It invited professionals from the fields of accounting, technological innovation, and sustainable development to discuss and present talks, analyzing new industry trends and professional development paths through the lens of professional talent demands, workplace challenges, and future career development, inspiring students to enhance themselves, seize opportunities, and carve out their futures.
The Officiating Guests Delivered the Opening Speeches
At the opening ceremony of the seminar, Mr. Iong Kong Leong, advisor to the Accounting Professional Committee of the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Cooperation Promotion Association (Macao Area), Chairman of the Accountant Professional Committee of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and Director of the Financial Services Bureau of Macao, along with Ms. Iong Weng Ian, advisor to the same committee and President of the Macau Accounting Professionals Association, and Professor Sheng Ni, Dean of the School of Business of M.U.S.T., delivered opening speeches. They encouraged students to pursue their dreams with unwavering determination and to maintain their initial aspirations while boldly advancing on their career paths.
During the seminar, Dr. Sio Hon Pan, Chairman of the Macau Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology, was invited to share the progress of artificial intelligence in the era of Industry 4.0 and discuss how AI solutions are addressing complex challenges across various industries and scenarios. Mr. Lau Yue Ming, Secretary-General of the Sustainable Development Association, presented the concept of sustainable development and delved into its critical importance for the environment and society. He also shared insights from his career journey, highlighting directions for continuous learning and ways to overcome workplace challenges. Additionally, Mr. Lam Heng Long, a partner at Shinewing (Macau) Certified Public Accountants, spoke about the social standing of the accounting profession, and the trends in demand for accounting professionals, and encouraged students to obtain professional qualifications and engage in lifelong learning to enhance their competitiveness.
