Over the decades, Macao has undergone rapid and profound transformation. Macau University of Science and Technology, founded in 2000, has steadfastly advanced with the times — from its early pursuit of excellence and innovation, to its embrace of East-West cultural integration after Macao's handover, and its ongoing commitment to pioneering new frontiers in the 21st century. Throughout this journey, MUST has remained committed to advancing with the momentum of the times and contributing to social progress through education, research, and innovation.
Today, artificial intelligence is driving a new wave of technological transformation worldwide. It is reshaping the way knowledge is created, teaching is delivered, and universities are governed, bringing both unprecedented opportunities and new challenges to higher education. How to harness technological innovation to advance educational transformation, and how to cultivate future-ready talents with creativity, practical skills, and a global perspective, has become a shared priority for higher education institutions around the world.
In response to these transformative developments, MUST hosts the "2026 AI · Future Higher Education" International Forum in July 2026. The forum aims to bring together leading experts and scholars from around the world to exchange ideas and explore new pathways for the future of higher education.
The forum focuses on key topics including AI-driven teaching innovation and future talent development, the creation of future learning environments and intelligent teaching spaces, educational data intelligence and digital governance in universities, as well as the role of AI Agents and embodied intelligence in shaping the innovative development of future universities.
Through a series of dialogues and collaborations, the forum seeks to foster new perspectives, share best practices, and explore how artificial intelligence can empower higher education to achieve more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable development.
