Shaping the Future of Technology: MUST Launches the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence

Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) has officially received registration approval from the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region on June 3, 2026 to offer the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MAI).

The program will commence student admissions in Fall Semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. Online applications are now open and will be accepted until July 6, 2026, subject to availability.

In response to rapid global technological advancement and the growing national and regional demand for high-level artificial intelligence professionals, the MSc in Artificial Intelligence is designed to cultivate advanced AI specialists with a strong balance of theoretical depth and practical expertise.

The program aims to provide robust talent support for the intelligent transformation of industries in Macao and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, while fostering regional technological innovation and promoting sustainable economic diversification.

Building on the MUST’s strong foundations in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Data Science, the MSc in Artificial Intelligence focuses on enhancing students’ comprehensive understanding of AI technologies and their real-world applications.

The program seeks to develop highly skilled professionals in AI-related fields, while completing an integrated Bachelor–Master–Doctoral talent development framework. Through this initiative, the MUST continues to advance interdisciplinary research, academic excellence, and international collaboration in artificial intelligence and related disciplines.

As one of the University’s four founding faculties, the Faculty of Innovation Engineering is committed to delivering high-quality teaching resources and fostering interdisciplinary competencies. MUST’s Computer Science discipline ranks among the top 1% worldwide according to the Essential Science Indicators (ESI). The Artificial Intelligence discipline was also ranked 88th globally in the U.S. News 2025 Best Global Universities Subject Rankings, and placed within the 151–200 range in the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2025.
