MUST Faculty of Medicine Students Win 1st Place in the 6th Global Food Maker Awards

A student team from the Bachelor of Food and Nutritional Sciences (BFNS) program at the Faculty of Medicine, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), guided by Associate Professor Sun Quancai, achieved First Place globally in the Finished Product Category of the "Panpan Food Cup - 6th Global Food Maker Awards.", at the 8th Food Formula Innovation Forum.

The team consists of six third-year BFNS students: Liu Yuwei, Li Yufei, Zhang Heyujia, Ma Lening, Xiao Zhewen, and Mou Yuan. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Sun, the students applied their professional knowledge in food nutrition to meet current market demands. The Global Food Maker Awards is a recognized innovation competition in the industry, attracting projects from various universities and enterprises. The team's performance reflects their solid academic foundation and practical application skills.

The award-winning product, "MicroStur Triple Repair Pet Health Supplement Powder", focuses on the high-value utilization of sturgeon by-products. It utilizes "sturgeon active short peptides" as its core ingredient, scientifically compounded with probiotics, prebiotics, and butyrate. This formulation creates a triple synergistic system of "microecological regulation + gastrointestinal soothing + barrier nutrition." The product is designed to support pet intestinal health while exploring the sustainable, high-value transformation of food processing by-products.
