MUST Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Visits Zhangzhou to Deepen Fujian-Macao Cultural and Tourism Cooperation

On August 12, 2026, a delegation from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of Macau University of Science and Technology visited Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, for an exchange and study visit. The delegation was led by Prof. Ben K. Goh, Dean of the FHTM, and included Assistant Professor Hong Fang, Assistant Administrative Officer Ou Zhongying, Vice-President of the FHTM Alumni Association Hou Anqi, doctoral student Su Xiaping, and Mr. Wu Jing, Chairman of the Nam On Youth Federation of Macao. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Gao Zhenling, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Zhangzhou Municipal Committee; Ms. Huang Yaya, Chairman of Zhangzhou Baiquan Operation Management Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Wu Jincheng, Vice-President of Zhangzhou Institute of Technology, among other leaders. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on cooperation in related fields.

The delegation first visited the Zhangzhou Ancient City, Qiaoxiang Theater, the Zhangzhou Arts and Crafts Inheritance Center, and the Minnan Traditional House Culture Museum. At the former, they viewed master craftsmanship and artworks up close; at the latter, they gained an in-depth understanding of the development history and unique architectural culture of Minnan traditional houses. Subsequently, the delegation visited Zhangzhou Institute of Technology for a symposium.

At the symposium, the two sides held productive discussions on cultural exchanges between Macao and Fujian, faculty and student exchange visits, and joint scientific research collaboration, among other areas, and reached consensus on future cooperation. The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management has always been committed to broadening exchange and cooperation channels with mainland institutions. This exchange and study visit to Zhangzhou is an important initiative for the Faculty to deepen Fujian-Macao interaction in the culture and tourism field and to expand platforms for faculty and student exchange and practical experience on the mainland. Going forward, the Faculty will continue to promote the implementation of related cooperation in faculty and student exchanges and research collaboration, build a bridge for culture and tourism communication between Macao and Zhangzhou, cultivate high-quality culture and tourism professionals, and promote the integrated and innovative development of the Fujian-Macao culture and tourism industry.
