MUST Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Visits Quanzhou Cultural Tourism Group to Sign Memorandum of Cooperation
On August 13, 2026, a delegation from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) visited Quanzhou for inspection and exchange activities and successfully signed a memorandum of cooperation. The delegation was led by Prof. Ben K. Goh, Dean of the Faculty, and included Assistant Professor Hong Fang, Assistant Administrative Officer Ou Zhongying, FHTM Alumni Association Vice President Hou Anqi, doctoral student Su Xiaping, and Wu Jing, Chairman of the Nam On Youth Federation of Macao. The delegation was warmly received by Wang Wenkun, Party Secretary of Quanzhou Cultural Tourism Group, and Sun Jiawei, Member of the Group’s Party Committee, among other leaders. The two sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation in related fields and signed a memorandum of cooperation.

At the Symposium
During the symposium, the two sides introduced their respective development profiles and core resource advantages. Based on the cultural tourism resource endowments of the two places, they discussed building a long-term cooperation mechanism in areas such as cultural tourism research and talent cultivation, and held fruitful exchanges on topics including two-way interaction, youth exchanges between Fujian and Macao, and joint construction of cooperation platforms. They fully tapped the overlapping effects of the two cities’ cultural brands, promoted mutual complementarity and learning from each other’s resources, explored new paths for integrated development of industry, academia and research, and reached multiple cooperation consensuses. At the end of the symposium, the two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation and exchanged specialty souvenirs.

On the afternoon of the same day, the FHTM delegation continued its field research, visiting key projects under Quanzhou Cultural Tourism Group, including the Quanzhou Arts and Crafts Cooperative, Fu Residence, and Xiangyu Hotel, gaining close-up insights into the operational models and cultural revitalization practices of local cultural tourism projects.
The FHTM continues to advance cooperation with mainland cultural tourism institutions. This activity aims to carry forward the deep cultural ties between Macao and Quanzhou, and to strengthen academic exchanges and industrial cooperation in the cultural tourism field by leveraging the shared advantages of the two cities as World Cultural Heritage cities, East Asian Cultural Capitals, key nodes on the Maritime Silk Road, and World Cities of Gastronomy.
