MUST and Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute Sign a Cooperation Agreement and Prof. Ning Gang Is Appointed as Part-time Professor and Doctoral Advisor in MUST

On the morning of 27th June, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between Macau University of Science and Technology and Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute cum the appointment ceremony for Prof. Ning Gang as part-time professor and doctoral advisor in MUST was held in the International Academic Lecture Hall of Xianghu Campus, JCI. More than 200 people attended the ceremony, including Prof. Guo Jie Zhong, Party Secretary of JCI, Prof. Jiang Wei Hui, President of JCI, Prof. Ning Gang, Vice President of JCI, Dr. Tong Ka Lok, Vice President of MUST, Prof. Zhang Zhi Qing, Executive Vice Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Arts, MUST, and directors of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and other faculties from JCI.

Prof. Guo Jie Zhong said on the ceremony that the cooperation between these two schools would be a chance to change the talent training mode. He hoped that MUST and JCI would complement each other with their different resources in order to boost the mutual development, extend their international influence, and cultivate more talents. Later, Prof. Jiang Wei Hui introduced the history and organizational structure of JCI, saying that JCI, which had devoted to uphold Chinese ceramic culture and develop the national ceramic industry, endeavored to become an influential ceramic college nationally and internationally.

Dr. Tong Ka Lok introduced the school philosophy and development of MUST. He said that as an international university, MUST had not only sought cooperation with different colleges and research institutes around the world, but also valued the communication with the Mainland China. He also looked forward to the cooperation between MUST and JCI, especially in the field of ceramic art design.

The speeches were followed by the signing ceremony, in which Dr. Tong presented the letter of appointment to Prof. Ning as MUST part-time professor and doctoral advisor for art design students. Prof. Ning expressed his gratitude for being trusted by the university, saying that he would fulfill his duty and help to promote the cooperation between the two schools.

After the ceremony, Dr. Tong visited the Ceramic Art Design Research Center of JCI.
