M.U.S.T. be invited to join the Digital Education Alliance
President Joseph Hun-wei LEE delivers keynote speech at “2024 World Digital Education Conference”
Jointly organized by the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the“2024 World Digital Education Conference” was successfully held on 30th January at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. With the theme of “Digital Education: Application, Sharing, and Innovation”, the conference will focus on topics including Improvement of Digital Literacy and Competency of Teachers, Education Digitalization and Learning Society Construction, Global Trends of Digital Education Development and Evaluation Index, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Ethics, Challenges and Opportunities of Digital Transformation for Basic Education, and Digital Governance in Education.
M.U.S.T. is honored to be invited to join the Digital Education Alliance, inauguration ceremony has been successfully held during the conference. Alliance members will jointly promote international cooperation and exchange in the field, establish a long term mechanism for international digital education cooperation in the aim to provide a more inclusive, equitable, and quality education through digital education transformation.
Vice Chancellor, President of Macau University of Science and Technology, Chair Prof. Joseph Hun-Wei Lee and Senior Advisor to the President, Director of the Accounting Research Center Professor Lin Zhi Jun were invited to attend the Parallel Session of the conference. President Lee gave a keynote speech on the topic Education Digitalization and Learning Society Construction”, started with M.U.S.T as an example, he explains the implementation of the “1+4” strategies of Digital Intelligence and how it actively promotes the development of Digital higher education. M.U.S.T. encourages interdisciplinary education, established the Faculty of Innovation Engineering (FIE) in order to promote the Digital Transformation of Teaching and Learning. The M.U.S.T research team has also established “Artificial Intelligence (AI) System for Screening, Diagnosis and Prediction of new coronavirus pneumonia (NCP)”, built the largest and highest quality digitized traditional Chinese medicine image database as well as the only National Field Science Observation and Research Station outside China to enhance Digital Intelligence Technology Innovation Research and Application. As the first university in Macao to open up the ChatGPT application, M.U.S.T has developed the smart campus “WeMustGPT” and “ChatLib” in help to explore AI Applications and Governance. The self-developed digital smart campus platform – WeMust also offers to further build a Digital Smart Campus. Through is opportunity, President Lee wish to learn from other universities on their experiences on Digital Higher Education, and contribute to the innovation and technology development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
