Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management of Macau University of Science and Technology and the Korea Casino Association co-organized the Korea Casino Resort Academy Training Program
On 17 June 2026, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), in collaboration with the Korea Casino Association (KCA), hosted the Korea Casino Resort Academy Training Program for 40 delegates from casino hotels and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of South Korea. This training program was part of the Overseas Cooperation Program organized by the Korea Casino Association (KCA) and overseen by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of South Korea. Meticulously designed and developed through in-depth communication between both parties, the program aimed to deepen the delegates’ understanding of Macao’s tourism and casino industries while fostering mutual understanding and creating opportunities for reciprocal benefits.

Dr. Jenny Kim and Dr. Lim Juhwan delivered lectures on the topics “Integrated Resorts in Macau and Their Responsible Management” and “IT Applications in the Macao Integrated Resort Market: Big Data and Artificial Intelligence — Application in the Casino Industry” respectively. Dr. Jenny Kim introduced the development and operation of integrated resorts in Macao, covering key components such as hotels, casinos, entertainment facilities, and retail outlets. She highlighted the importance of responsible management practices in the tourism and casino industries, with particular emphasis on responsible gambling, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

Dr. Lim Juhwan presented the topic “IT Applications in the Macao Integrated Resort Market: Big Data and Artificial Intelligence — Application in the Casino Industry,” illustrating how information technology is driving the transformation of integrated resorts. He explored the practical applications of big data analytics and artificial intelligence in areas such as customer behavior insights, precision marketing, operational optimization, responsible gambling monitoring, and security management. Drawing on real-world examples from Macao’s casino industry, Dr. Lim demonstrated how data-driven decision-making enhances competitiveness and guest experience, and encouraged the delegates to embrace technological trends to discover innovative opportunities in the sector.

The lectures by both professors deepened the delegates’ understanding of the tourism and casino industries in Macao. The delegates highly commended the training program and expressed that the knowledge gained would greatly benefit their future career development in the tourism and casino sectors.
