On April 29th, the Faculty of Chinese Medicine held a brief and grand "2021 Academy of Chinese Medicine Award Ceremony" in Classroom N211, focusing on commending students who have won honors in various academic and social service activities in the 2020/2021 academic year. And also thanks to individuals and institutions that have given great support to the Faculty of Chinese Medicine in the past year. This event was carried out in accordance with the university's epidemic prevention guidelines, and the event was funded by the Macau Foundation.
Chair Professor Jacky Yuk-Chow SO, Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology and Dean of Business School, delivered a speech on behalf of MUST. Vice President SO briefly introduced the general situation of the university and the Faculty of Chinese Medicine to the guests and students at the scene. Since its establishment, the university has steadily improved its school-running standards and enrollment quality. It has become the largest comprehensive university in Macau and one of the top 20 universities in four districts of Cross-Straits. The Faculty of Chinese Medicine, which has grown up with MUST, has established a complete degree course system in Chinese medicine. In 2011, with the establishment of the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (MUST), the faculty has achieved rapid development in teaching and scientific research. The number of graduate students enrolled in the faculty has surpassed that of undergraduates, and the shift from teaching-oriented to teaching-researching has gradually laid a solid foundation for the training of talents for Chinese medicine in Macau and the sustainable development of the industry. In the development process of the faculty, the quality and characteristics of the courses have always been the focus of work, and strive to improve the knowledge structure of students and cultivate practical work abilities, so as to achieve the purpose of comprehensively improving students' comprehensive quality and talent quality. The faculty continuously organizes and organizes students to participate in a variety of academic activities, public welfare activities and extracurricular activities. Thanks to the concept of holistic education in the faculty, a large number of students have won awards in various competitions and students actively serve the health care undertakings of the Macao Special Administrative Region. And also was praised by the society.
This awards ceremony presented 5 types of awards, with 87 honorary certificates and a prize of nearly MOP10,000. Eighty-one students from the Faculty of Chinese Medicine and the School of Pharmacy were awarded, and representatives of the winning students were invited to accept the award at the event. The Faculty of Chinese Medicine also issued certificates of appreciation to institutions and people who strongly supported and funded the activities of the faculty in the 2020/2021 academic year, including Zhongshan Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., Macau Chinese Health Care Association, HKUST Hospital, Macau University of Science and Technology -School of Pharmacy, etc., as well as Mr. Cheng Jinle (Deputy General Manager of Zhongshan Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd.), Ms. Ho Meihua (President of Macau Chinese Health Care Association), and Mr. Chen Weiliang, etc. Instructing undergraduate students in outpatient clinics, Dr. Mo Huizhong, Dr. Zhang Jun, Dr. Su Chunxian, Dr. Zhu Jiakang, etc. were awarded the clinical trainee teacher certificate. At the same time, the faculty also expresses its gratitude to the Student Affairs Office, Academic Registry, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, the university Library, Academy of Film etc. who have been vigorously supporting various extracurricular activities of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine! It also thanks the Social Service Team of Macau University of Science and Technology.
