A team of four FHTM faculty members, including Dean Philip Feifan Xie, Dr. Su-Ying Pan, Dr. Vincent Cheng Ting Pong and Ms Chieh-Yun Yang, was invited by National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) to attend and present in a sepcial session entitled “The trend of Hospitality Industry in Macau” in the 14th International Symosium on New Paradigms of Management on November 6, 2015.
During the morning session, our team met with Chair of Business Administration from NTUST and hotel managers from several leading hotels in Taipei including the Starwood hotels and resorts to discuss how to build an improved educational program in hospitality management and enhance research collaboration between universities and the industry. The afternoon session was led by Dean Xie to introduce the current development of the hotel and gaming industries in Macau, such as human resource management system and financial performance in hotels, and future opportunities in the hospitality industry. Our team also compared the hospitality industry in Macau with the one in Taiwan and exchanged ideas with the students and participants. Both the MUST and NTUST are looking forawd to further collaborating in the near future.
