The Cultural Tourism and Conservation course for the Cultural Tourism Management major includes the concept of authentic learning experience in the field. Therefore, the FHTM has been arranging field trip to visit Macau Cultural World Heritage sites for the 3rd and 4th year CTM students. This year, the field trip was undertaken on April 11, led by Dr. Tuan Phong Ly, the assistant professor of FHTM. There are 15 students joined this event. Students reported that they had learnt different knowledge about Macau World Heritage sites regarding to site history, attraction management and operation, sustainability plan and especially heritage revitalization skills. Students enjoyed the field trip experience and would like to join more similar events in the future.
This trip was supported by Instituto Cultural do Governo da R.A.E. de Macau, Divisão de Comunicação Cultural and guided by Macao Heritage Ambassadors Association. The trip lasted for three hours and visited the following sites: The Mandarin House, D. Pedro V Theatre, St. Paul’s Ruins, Cinematheque-Passion, Lane of Forever Happiness, St. Anthony’s Church, Casa Garden and Morrison Chapel and Cemetery.
