On November 17, 2016, 23 FHTM students who have taken the course of “Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Business” made a visit to Galaxy Resort Complex. Ms. Angela Chan, Training Manager of Galaxy Entertainment Group guided the whole visit and explained the design concept of the Diamond Lobby – using “peacock” to signify the grand and elegant image of Galaxy with a sense of prosperity.
A Galaxy suite as large as 121 square meters offer guests with all detailed arrangement focusing on the convenience of customers from free mini bar, coffee machine, setting of chairs, lighting, stationery. Accompanied by Ken, the Assistant Manager, students further visit the Grand Resort Deck – a tropical water garden with the world’s largest skytop wave pool, the world’s longest skytop aquatic adventure river ride (575 meter long), Asian themed tropical gardens, white sand beach; exciting waterslides, waterfall and kids aquatic zone.
Walking from Galaxy Hotel to Broadway, students felt the difference in atmosphere from a grand and luxury environment to a more causal and leisure one. Broadway offers a food street with all kinds of cuisine, some cast performance and interactive activities around. Visitors can experience a more relaxing and fun atmosphere there.
This around 3-hour visit to Galaxy resort complex enables students’ opportunities to communicate with staff directly and make observation for the whole property. Students expressed that they have more understanding about hotels; enlightening their knowledge towards tourism and hospitality field.
