Under the guidance of Dr. Fang Ching Ching, some of the first-year master students of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management visited the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) of Hong Kong Polytechnic University on April 16, 2018. They were warmly received by the teachers and professors of the college.
The visit started with a faculty campus tour at 10:00 am. Then Miss Maggie Ng, the teacher of SHTM introduced the structure of the school and took the students to visit the teacher’s office, libraries, student kitchens, tasting rooms, and student restaurants.
At 11:00 a.m., the interns of Hotel Icon took the students for a hotel tour, and introduced the overall layout of the hotel, the design idea, and then guided them to the three restaurants and hotel rooms.
After a short break, at 2 p.m., a meeting was held with the Director of Engineering and Environment Management of the hotel, who introduced the detailed environmental management system, environmental friendly concept and the relevant measures of environmental management of the hotel. After the meeting, the Director interacted with the students and teachers and answered their questions.
At 3 p.m., Dr Jinsoo Lee from Hong Kong polytechnic University introduced the doctoral program to students and encouraged them to pursue for further studies.
This activity not only deepened the friendship between the students, but also deepened the students' understanding of hotel environmental management.
