The FHTM hosted a lecture on October 23, 2018. Professor Sam Kim from Hong Kong Polytechnic University was invited to give a speech entitled “Sustainable Convention and Event” for the students. Professor Zhang Yang of the FHTM hosted the speech, and Dr. Ally Park Sung Hee and Dr. Maria Lee Younghee together with undergraduate, graduate and PhD students attended this lecture.
Professor Sam Kim introduced the economic, social and environmental responsibility of sustainable convention and event, successful example of sustainable convention, and how to develop sustainable convention and event to the students, and exchanged ideas about how to develop the sustainable hospitality and event industries in Macau with the students. Professor Sam Kim highlighted the importance of education in improving the sustainable convention and event, the vivid and humorous introduction of Professor Sam Kim provided the industry with meaningful practical implications, and the students are benefit a lot from this speech.
Another lecture about the improvement of research ability was given by Professor Kim in the afternoon for faculty members and doctoral students. Professor Kim interpreted the discipline background, frontier research topics of tourism and hospitality field and research method and technology based on his own research experience and research fruits. After the lecture, Professor Kim answered the students’ questions and participants of this lecture were all impressed. Drs Tang Juan, Xu Fujie, Liu Yingni, Zhu Yanni, Hong Fang, Lee Younghee attended this lecture.
