On October 9, 2020, Macau University of Science and Technology successfully held the first lecture of the “Seminars by Hotel Managers” at D hall. It is with great pleasure to have invited Ms. Sophia Mok, Director of Marketing Services and Public Relations at the LISBOETA Macau to give us a talk on the Application of Marketing and Public Relations in the Hotel Industry. Ms. Mok first introduced herself according to her professional experiences. Then she explained some main points on marketing strategy and public relations management, enabling students to understand the relevant content of marketing and public relations management in the hotel industry and its importance, with further elaborations using examples.
After the lecture, students asked questions vigorously about prerequisite for working in the Sales and Marketing Department of a hotel property, and what kind of talent that the department is looking for. Some students also raised questions about the adjustment on marketing strategies in the post-epidemic situation. Guest-speaker and students interacted, and students benefited a lot from Ms. Mok’s sharing.
