Organized by Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) Alumni Federation and co-organized by The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of MUST and FHTM Students’ Association of Students’ Union of MUST, “Alumni Talk —— Hotelier Experience Sharing” Symposium was held on November 18, 2022. The event was attended by Prof. Pang Chuan, Vice President of the MUST and Chairman of the General Assembly of MUST Alumni Federation, Prof. Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM, Dr. Yang Chieh-Yun, Program Director of FHTM, Dr. Feng Yan, Program Director of FHTM, Associate Professor Dr. Pai Chen-Kuo, Assistant Professor Dr. Hong Fang, Assistant Professor, Dr. Lai Tin Hang, Assistant Professor, Mr. Yu Wai Hang, Lecturer, Ms. Vivian Tang, Vice Chief Director and Secretary-general of MUST Alumni Federation, Ms. Genie Chang, Director of MUST Alumni Federation and over 250 students and teachers at D Hall. Nearly 400 students participated in online. This symposium was sponsored by Macao Foundation.

The main purpose of this symposium was to provide a platform for the alumni to share their working experience in the hotels with the current students and let the students understand the working environment and actual operation of the industry. Prof. Ben K. Goh welcomed the arrival of alumni and the distinguished guests. The faculty hopes that through these events students may have the opportunities to have close contact and dialogue with alumni, to learn more about the industry, and broaden students' horizons.

Four alumni were invited to the event in leading luxury hotel services. They were Wang Shengwen, Zhu Yijing, Li Haoming, Hong Zhengying. They shared the practical experience of working and provided their advice to current students. Finally, the comprehensive and in-depth interactive discussion was launched with the students including hotel internship, resume preparation, skills of searching job, interview, working environment and enterprise culture, and future career. The entire event lasted for two hours.
