On December 18th, 2022, guided by Zhuhai Tourism Association, Zhuhai City Polytechnic College, City University of Macau and Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area Tourism Research Association co-organized the Guangdong-Macau University Student Tourism Product Design and Customization Competition, at the Jinhui International Plaza in Zhuhai. Two student teams from the Macau University of Science and Technology were extremely competitive and both teams won the second prizes at the competition. Two student teams were supervised by Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management Assistant Professor Liu Chao and Xia Menglong, Associate Prosfessor Tang Juan and Assistant Professor Xu Ye.

There were dozens of teams from different universities and colleges from all over China participating in the competition and 13 teams were selected for the final. The judging panel composed of influential local entrepreneurs, professors and experts. They awarded two MUST teams as the 2nd place winners (There are only three 2nd place award). MUST achieved the best performance among all the Macau universities in this competition.

The competition enables students to have a better understanding of the tourism industry operation. Students also get the opportunity to put the theories that they have learned in school into practical business proposals. FHTM will continue to actively encourage students to participate in different kinds of practical events and competitions and cultivate talents that will know how to combine theoretical knowledge with practice in the future.
