On December 2nd, the 17th National College Business Elite Challenge Exhibition and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Competition (Hotel Management Practice Competition), jointly organized by the Commercial Industry Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Commercial Industry Chamber of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), and the Commerce of Economy Association of China (CEA), was successfully held at Shanghai Business School. The WellnessPro team from Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), consisting of Chen Yaxuan, Hou Yingge and Hua Qianying from Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) and Wang Yushuo and Li Feifan from School of Business (MSB), was awarded the second place. The team was guided by Assistant Professor Dr. Wang Shuo of FHTM.

According to the research group for the assessment and management system of university competitions of the China Higher Education Society, the National College Business Elite Challenge Exhibition and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Competition is currently the only nationally ranked exhibition competition for college students. The Hotel Management Practice Competition is one of the core parts this competition. This year, nearly 1600 students and teachers from about 236 teams representing 18 provinces, cities, autonomous regions, centrally administered municipalities, and special administrative regions across the country participated. Eventually, 32 teams from 26 universities nationwide advanced to the national finals. After a day of fierce competition, the WellnessPro team's project, "Proposal for Lan Shi Smart Wellness Hotel of Chinese Medicine," received unanimous praise from the judges and won the second place nationwide.
The team proposed to build a smart wellness hotel featuring traditional Chinese medicine in the southern coastal area of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao-In-depth Cooperation Zone. The hotel integrates the thousands of years of history of Lingnan traditional Chinese medicine culture with innovative technology in Chinese medicine from Guangdong and Macau, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the healing and wellness experience of contemporary Chinese medicine and treatment. Additionally, the project introduces a smart wellness cloud platform to create a new pattern for health tourism. The awarded project is in line with China's "14th Five-Year Plan" to accelerate the integration of tourism, health care, and traditional Chinese medicine. It also demonstrates the continuous attention and deep understanding of MUST faculty and students towards the overall planning of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao-In-depth Cooperation Zone.
