77 first-year master of hotel management students from Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, led by Assistant Professor Liu Jing, visited the MGM Macau on November 28, 2023 for a study tour. The purpose of this visit was to enable students to better learn professional skills in the hotel industry and improve their professional literacy through on-site visits to MGM Macau and explanations by relevant staff.

The students firstly visited and learned about MGM Hotel's vegetation management and the efficient use of energy-saving lights, reflecting the hotel's contribution to sustainable development. Subsequently, under the guidance of Calvin Tong, the Director of Human Resources Management at the hotel, and other staff, the students and teachers were divided into groups to visit different grades of hotel rooms and experienced various Internet of Things technology services. Finally, the students and teachers also visited the hotel's logistics area to understand the MGM's logistics operation process and the human resources management process's role in improving employee performance.
This experiential learning activity provided the visiting teachers and students with a more direct understanding of integrated resort hotel management and career development in the hotel industry. It helped the students to comprehend the textbook knowledge and prepare for future learning and employment.
