To broaden students’ horizons internationally and promote collegial interactions with Hong Kong tertiary institutions, four supervising teachers Ip Kwai Fun, Chen Yan, Li Xin and Tang Huajun from the Department of Decision Sciences, School of Business, Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), organized a team of five students majoring in Supply Chain Management to participate in the Essay Competition of the 2015 Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK) Student Day Event. The student team representing MUST comprised Zhouhua Yilou, Yan Tingdong, Xu Meiqi, Hou Yayan and Wang Zheng who had won the 2nd runner-up prize out of 9 participating teams. Their participation was vigorously supported by MUST and sponsored by Macau Foundation.

Besides the MUST team, there were eight other teams representing Hong Kong universities and colleges competing for the championship. They were representing the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hang Seng Management College of Hong Kong, HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education, School of Professional Education and Executive Development of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) respectively. All of the above Hong Kong universities have been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) with the relevant programs.  MUST was the only non-Hong Kong university invited to the competition.

Among the institutions of higher education in the four regions across the Strait, those from Hong Kong always have a distinct advantage in the field of supply chain management. Although facing the traditionally strong competitors like the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University this year, the MUST team had shown fearless and extraordinary performance after intensive training and devotion for half year, which amazed the judges, supervised the teachers of other teams and audience and finally won the second runner-up.  The champion was the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the first runner-up was the University of Hong Kong respectively.
