The FHTM of MUST welcomed Professor John Ap, former faculty member of School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, who presented “Tourist Attractions and the Keys to their Success” in the seminar series in the mid of September. This seminar was sponsored by Macao Foundation to promote the hospitality and tourism studies.
Professor Ap is a leading scholar in tourism planning and attraction management. He explained key points associated with attraction planning and daily operation. Using the case studies from Disneyland and other theme parks, he emphasized the importance of daily maintenance in order to ensure visitors’ quality experiences. Professor Ap was also involved a warm discussion with our graduate students related how to avoid the “copy and paste” pitfalls in attraction management.
