MUST Hosted University Presidents Forum of 2015 Macau Forum; Signed MOUs with Three Universities from Taiwan, the U.S.A., and Spain

In alignment with the Macau S.A.R. government’s development strategy of “Prospering Macau by Fostering Talents” and for the purpose of moving forward the internationalization of Macau’s higher education, organized by the Organizational Committee of the Macau Forum and hosted by Macau University of Science and Technology, the 2015 Macau Forum was held successfully on November 3 to 5 at the conference hall of Block N, MUST. During the Forum, Macau University of Science and Technology signed MOUs with three internationally renowned universities: Asia University, Stony Brooks University, the New York state, and Universidad de las Islas Baleares, Spain.

On November 4, 2015, President Jeffrey Tsai of Asia University met with President Liu Liang of Macau University of Science and Technology, Prof. Zhang Du, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Technology, and Mr. Kwong Ying Wa, Administrative Officer of the President’s Office, MUST; the two parties exchanged views on plans for faculty exchange and student exchange, collaboration engagements in research, and others, and signed MOU.

On November 5, 2015, President Samuel Stanley Jr. of Stony Brooks University, and President Llorenç Huguet Rotger and Director Ricardo Sagrera of the International Cooperation Office, Universidad de las Islas Baleares paid a visit to MUST; the delegations met and discussed with President Liu Liang, Vice President Su Seng Pang, Dean Sun Jian Rong of the University International College, Dean Xie Fei Fan of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine, and Vice Dean Lam Wai Kei of the Faculty of Health Sciences, MUST. President Liu Liang gave an introduction to the 15 years’ development of MUST to the two presidents; the three parties exchanged views on plans for faculty exchange and student exchange, research collaborations in culture and science, and other topics of common interest, and jointly signed MOU so as to further efforts in promoting cultural exchanges and international cooperation.

After the meetings, accompanied by President Liu Liang, the guests went on a tour around the Lunar and Planetary Science Laboratory, partner laboratory of the Lunar and Deep Space Exploration State Key Lab of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, MUST; the presidents gave high regards to MUST’s impressive capacity in equipment and facilities for scientific research and Chinese medicine.
