MUST Scholars Won Five Awards at "Outstanding Achievement Awards for Macau Research in Humanities and Social Sciences"

The results of "The 4th Outstanding Achievement Awards for Macau Research in Humanities and Social Sciences" were released recently. Co-organized by Macau Foundation, Social Sciences in China Press and Guangdong Social Sciences Association, the conference received 293 submissions (94 monographs and 199 papers) from the Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, out of which, 56 awards were presented.

The judges were experts of humanities and social sciences from Macau and the Mainland China, including Mr. Gao Xiang, Secretary General of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Chief Editor of Social Sciences in China Press, Mr. Wu Zhi Liang, Chairman of Administrative Committee, Macau Foundation, Mr. Lin You Neng, Vice Chairman of Guangdong Social Sciences Association, Prof. Chen Xi, Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology, and so on. The award ceremony was held at Macau Science Center on December 14th, 2015. The judges, and the officers from the Liaison Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Macau Foundation, presented the awards to the winners.

MUST scholars received five awards. "Tourism Demand Forecast: Theory and Empirical Research" written by Assistant Professor Zhou Wen Chi and Zheng Yong from School of Business won the second prize in the monograph category; "Cultural Memory in the City's Development -- Symposium on Macau Culture and City Image Researches " edited by Professor Zhang Zhi Qing and Associate Professor Wang Lan from Faculty of Humanities and Arts won the third prize in the monograph category; "Old Advertisements in Macau (1920-1970) -- A Visual Analysis" written by Associate Professor Sun Zhen from Faculty of Humanities and Arts won Excellence Award in the monograph category; "A Study of Clothes on Portraits of Matteo Ricci" written by Associate Professor Wang Lan won the second prize in the paper category; "Job Insecurity and Counterproductive Behavior of Casino Dealers -- The Mediating Role of Affective Commitment and Moderating Role of Supervisor Support" written by Associate Professor Tian Qing from School of Business won the third prize in the paper category.

The monographs and papers submitted for "Outstanding Achievement Awards for Macau Research in Humanities and Social Sciences" were put into four categories: Economics and Management; Politics, Law, Journalism, and Sociology; History, Philosophy, and Literature; Language, Education and Arts. It is an influential event among researchers who study Macau.
