Molecules publishes Commemorative Issue in Honor of MUST
Chair Professor Christopher W. K. Lam’s Research Achievements
In honor of MUST Chair Professor Christopher W. K. Lam’s research achievements, the international research journal Molecules will publish, from February to December 2016, a commemorative issue entitled “Molecules Mediating Allergic and Autoimmune Inflammation”.
Molecules is an international, peer-reviewed and open access scientific journal published by the Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI AG) of Switzerland. It is devoted to publishing original articles and reviews on organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and natural products. This electronic journal is reputed for it is efficient manuscript processing speed: decision of acceptance (or rejection) is usually notified within 24 days after submission, followed by publication on web after an average of 8 days. Its current SCI impact factor is 2.416.
Professor Lam is at present employed at the Macau University of Science and Technology, Macau, China as Chair Professor and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Director of Laboratory Medicine at the University Hospital, and Principal Researcher in the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine. Since the early 1990s he has led research in clinical and experimental medicine covering allergy and clinical immunology, nephrology, lipidology, endocrinology, toxicology and clinical trials of Chinese medicines. Professor Lam has to-date published >550 scientific papers with a total citation number >12,500 and h-score of 55. Among them studies of allergy (allergic rhinitis, asthma and atopic dermatitis) and autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis) contributed >140 papers. In 2008, Professor Lam was conferred an inaugural Distinguished Award in Laboratory Medicine and Patient Care by the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC). In this same year, one of his papers on the discovery of cytokine Th17 mediating inflammation in SLE was subsequently commended as one of the 5 top-cited research publications in Clincial Immunology from 2006-2010.
In honor of Professor Lam’s outstanding research contributions and career accomplishments, Molecules is pleased to be publishing a commemorative issue in the areas of his research on “Molecules Mediating Allergic and Autoimmune Inflammation”.
