Ceramics Studio of Faculty of Humanities and Arts, MUST was opened

The opening ceremony of Ceramics Studio of Faculty of Humanities and Arts, MUST was held on the morning of April 26, 2016. Mr. Wong Tai Lok, Director of Office of Finance and Cooperation, Administrative Committee of Macau Foundation, Prof. Ning Gang, Vice President of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, Prof. He Xiao You, Vice President of Nanjing University of the Arts, Prof. Zheng Ning from Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, Prof. Kim Hyeog Soo, Dean of Department of Ceramic Arts, Dankook University, Prof. Liu Liang, President of MUST and Dr. Tong Ka Lok, Vice President of MUST, attended the ceremony.

In his speech, President Liang said that Ceramics Studio was the third studio established for FA after Metal & Wood Arts Design Lab, and Multimedia Production Lab. It will not only facilitate diverse arts education, but also enable the teachers and students to produce beautiful works in high quality that meet the demand of the culture and market.

In the afternoon, one of the activities of the opening ceremony of Ceramics Studio – “Academic Forum of the Development of Ceramics in Globalization” was launched at N101 of the library building. National and international well-known experts of ceramics were invited to attend the forum, four of whom gave speeches to share their experience in ceramics with MUST teachers and students. They were Prof. Zheng Ning’s “Ceramics in Tsinghua University”, Prof. Ning Gang’s “Internationalization of Ceramics Education”, Prof. He Xiao You’s “The Value of Design” and Prof. Kim Hyeog Soo’s “The World of Ceramic Sculpture – Size Change and Its Expansion towards Public Arts”. The forum was hosted by Prof. Zhang Zhi Qing, Vice Dean of FA, and Assistant Prof. Zhang Xi Zhi from FA.

There will be “Ceramic Workshop with Korean Artists” at Ceramics Studio in the morning between 10 to 12 from April 27 to 29. MUST faculties and students are welcome join it.
