Professor Li Zhi Wu, Professor Zhou Meng Chu and Professor Li Song Xiao of Faculty of Information Technology at Macau University of Science and Technology have been listed as “Highly Cited Researchers 2017” by Clarivate Analytics on November 16, 2017. It is based on their research in the field of engineering and mathematics, respectively. It is worth noting that among the only four Macau scientists listed, three are from Macau University of Science and Technology. The list represented that the three professors have made continuous significant contributions in the relevant fields, and their works have won recognitions and affirmations from the global scholarly community.
The Highly Cited Researchers 2017 covers 21 fields of the natural sciences and social sciences. Based on calculations of all the papers indexed by Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI), the Highly Cited Researchers selects the top 1% most highly cited scientists of all the 21 fields; for the 2017 ranking, 3,542 scientists made the list, of which 282 researchers are from China (32 from Hong Kong, 18 from Taiwan, and 4 from Macao). Following the announcement of the 2017 list, Professor Li Zhi Wu, Professor Zhou Meng Chu and Professor Li Song Xiao, have made the Highly Cited Researchers list four years in a row; their research publications have produced international impact in their fields and have made significant contributions to the development of the relevant fields.
