Macau University of Science and Technology held the 2018/2019 Opening Ceremony and Ceremony for Conferment of Honorary Doctoral Degrees in Block J on September 8, 2018. At the ceremony, the University presented awards to the winners of Teaching Excellence Awards, Bank of China Research Awards, and Zhongzhu Medicine & Life Science Excellent Teacher Awards.
The 2017/2018 Teaching Excellence Awards consists of two categories, “Outstanding Teachers” and “Rising Stars”. This year’s Outstanding Teachers are Assistant Professor Lin Yongjia from School of Business, Assistant Professor Zheng Zefeng from Faculty of Information Technology, Lecturer Zhu Yanni from Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and Associate Professor Li Na from the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, and this year’s Rising Star is Assistant Professor Guo Yu from the Faculty of Humanities and Arts.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, Deputy General Manager of the Bank of China Ltd (Macau Branch), presented prizes to the winners of the Bank of China Research Awards. The five winners are Assistant Professor Wei Wei from University International College, Assistant Professor Zhu Guoyuan from the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, Associate Professor Feng Li and Associate Professor Zeng Xiangcai from Faculty of Information Technology, and Assistant Professor Fan Di from School of Business.

Mr. Xu Delai, Chairman and President of Zhongzhu Healthcare Holding Co., Ltd, presented the Zhongzhu Medicine & Life Science Excellent Teacher Awards to 18 excellent researchers and teachers. The prizes and winners are Special Prize in Service for Vice Dean Zhou Hua of Faculty of Chinese Medicine, First Prize in Service for Associate Prof. Law Yuen Kwan from the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, Special Prize in Research for Dean Zhu Yi Zhun of School of Pharmacy and Associate Prof. Leung Lai Han from the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, First Prize in Research for Prof. Yao Xiaojun, Associate Prof. Li Ting, Associate Prof. Wong Kam Wai, and Associate Prof. Wang Jingrong from the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine; Second Prize in Research for Prof. Hsiao Wen Luan, Associate Prof. Zhang Wei, and Associate Prof. Luo Pei from the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, Assistant Prof. Zhu Yinghuai from School of Pharmacy, and Assistant Prof. Fan Xingxing and Assistant Prof. Zhu Xiaoming from the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, Special Prize in Teaching for Associate Prof. Xie Ying from School of Pharmacy, and First Prize in Teaching for Associate Prof. Wu Qibiao, Assistant Prof. Chen Min and Assistant Prof. Xu Youhua from Faculty of Chinese Medicine.
