The 2019 Decorations, Medals and Certificates of Merit Awards Ceremony of the Macao Special Administrative Region was held at the Macau Cultural Centre in the afternoon of November 22, 2019. Dr. Liu Chak Wan, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chancellor of Macau University of Science and Technology was awarded the Decoration of Honour – Golden Lotus for his outstanding performances in individual achievements, societal contributions and services to the Macao S.A.R. At the award presentation ceremony, Dr. Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of the Macao S.A.R., conferred the honor upon Dr. Liu Chak Wan.
Dr. Liu Chak Wan is one of the founders of Macau University of Science and Technology, and is currently Chancellor of the University. He’s been devoted to educational, cultural and social philanthropic causes, and has been proactive in giving back to the community and making contributions to the society. Dr. Liu is a member of the Standing Committee of the 13th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and member of the Executive Council of the Macao S.A.R.

Along with Dr. Liu Chak Wan, Member of the University Council Mr. Ma Iao Lai also received the Decoration of Honour – Golden Lotus, while Vice Chairman of the University Council Mr. Wong Eddie Yue Kai, Member Dr. Leonel Alberto Alves and Member Ms. Ho Sut Heng received the Decoration of Honour - Silver Lotus. Member of the Board of Trustees of the M.U.S.T. Foundation Ms. Ho Pansy Catilina Chiu King received Medal of Merit-Tourism.
