The sixth Lecture of FHTM’s “Academic Seminars Series” entitled
“Experimental Method in Tourism Research: Research in Causality”

The sixth lecture of the “Academic Seminars Series” hosted by M.U.S.T. Faculty of Hospitality and Hotel Management (FHTM) was held on December 7, 2020.  Associated Professor Hou Yuansi from School of Business and Management of Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom was invited to give a talk entitled “Experimental Method in Tourism Research: Research in Causality”. FHTM teachers and postgraduate students, including Program Director Dr. Zhang Yang attended the seminar. The seminar was sponsored by the Macao Foundation.

Prof.Hou Yuansi gave a speech on Zoom

Professor Hou Yuansi is the Associate Professor in Marketing of School of Business and Management. Her teaching and research directions include Service Marketing, Research Methods, Consumer Psychology, Environmental Psychology and Social Cognition, Service Technology and AI, and Economic Decision Making and Pricing.

In the seminar, Professor Hou shared methods of research design, experimental design, laboratory-based experiments and field experiments for FHTM teachers and postgraduate students, and explained how to use experimental methods flexibly in tourism research. The atmosphere of the lecture was relaxed and lively. The teachers and students actively participated in the discussion and exchanges, which they felt were very rewarding.
