FHTM successfully held the Christmas Gala Dinner 2020

Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM) of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.) successfully held the Christmas Gala Dinner 2020 in the evening of December 11th 2020, at the terrace of the second floor of Block O.

The Gala Dinner was prepared by students of FHTM throughout the whole process. BITM students designed and planned the dinner in the early stage and completed the reception service. BHM students were responsible for Hors d'oeuvres and dinner etiquette services. Dinner dishes were designed and prepared by BFBM students.

Guests attending this Gala Dinner included Vice President Kwong Ying Wa, Associate Vice President Sun Jian Rong, Dean of FHTM Ben K. Goh, Vice Dean of FHTM Amy Chu, and the members of Faculty Advisory Board including Ms. Sophie Lei, CEO of SD Media, Ms. Wendy Yu, Senior Vice President of Human Resources of MGM, Mr. Perry Yuen, Vice President of VIP Services and F&B Gaming Operations of City of Dreams, Ms. Rosy Pang, Vice President of Talent Management & Leadership Development of Galaxy Entertainment Group, and Ms. Betty Fung, Executive Chef of Café Bonbon. In addition, Department Heads of internship institutions with long-term cooperation, Deans, Directors, Heads of administrative departments, Faculty teachers and administrative staff also joined as guests.

Toasting with guests

At the opening ceremony of the Christmas Dinner, Dean Ben K. Goh delivered a speech to welcome and thank all the present guests, and the teachers and students who contributed to the preparation of the dinner. At the same time, he also said that this event provided the opportunity for students from International Tourism Management Program, Hotel Management Program and Food and Beverage Management Program to work as a team, utilizing skills they learned from their respective programs. The faculty was proud of the students and their achievements, and hoped that the Gala provided them with the opportunity to get known by industry professionals.

During the dinner, Mr. Kwong Ying Wa, Prof. Sun Jian Rong, Prof. Ben K. Goh, Ms. Amy Chu and Program Directors of FHTM had a toast with guests to celebrate the 20th anniversary of M.U.S.T., hoping that the friendship between FHTM and its partners would be everlasting.

Performances of the Art Troupe

During dinner, TIS students brought a child Christmas song chorus and the art troupe performed with live musical instruments and songs. The whole dinner was filled with a warm Christmas atmosphere.

Four dishes were served, including “Poached Tiger Prawns”, “Potato Fennel Soup”, “Wagyu Beef Steak”, and “Yuzu Bliss”. The Chinese names of the dishes have profound meaning that express our confidence to get through these tough times together, and our best wishes for the future.

The success of the dinner fully showed the spirit of teamwork, learning outcomes and professionalism of FHTM students to the guests, and at the same time made Macao industry professionals have a deeper understanding of the diversity of the various programs of FHTM. In the future, FHTM will uphold the teaching mode of combining theory with practice to improve students' professional knowledge and skills, and further cultivate more excellent talents for Macao and other districts.
