“Be selective about what to do and what not to do” for a better development of Chinese medicine in Macau
Vice Minister of Ministry of Health of PRC, Mr. Wang Guo Qiang has recently participated in the 11th Meeting of the Consortium for Globalization of Chinese Medicine (CGCM), and made a second visit to Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). Prof. Zhou Li Gao, Chairman of the University Council of MUST, extended a warm welcome to the Vice Minister Wang Guo Qiang. Vice Rector of MUST, Chair Prof. Liu Liang, introduced to him the development of the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (MUST) since the establishment. Vice Minister Wang congratulated MUST on the success of the CGCM, which fully reflects the breadth of CGCM and attractiveness of Macau in the field of Chinese medicine. He also gave congratulations on the development and achievement of the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine.
Vice Minister Wang pointed out that due to the limitation of geography, population, human resources, it’s impossible to develop Chinese medicine exhaustively in Macau. The research objectives should meet the demand of the market, so as to attract more talents and bring in advanced equipment to the state key laboratory. Only in this way can the key technical issues be broken through. Vice Minister Wang also expected that the cooperation between the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine and mainland China can be strengthened to overcome the limitations and complement each other in developing Chinese Medicine.
Accompanied by Vice Rector Chair Prof. Liu Liang and Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine, Prof. Jiang Zhi Hong, Vice Minister Wang also visited State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine located at MUST.
