In recent years, Macao Foundation has given strong support to the university on research projects and teaching facility updating, which produced a considerable amount of outcomes. The press conference presents two of the most important achievements in the university’s academic life.

Global History and Macau is a series of 11 books within a larger Macao Studies series. It’s the outcome of the research project on “Macao’s Historical Position and Unique Function in Globalization and Eastern-Western Communication”. The project, started in 2008, initiated a significant study of Macao history from a global-history viewpoint, and thereby established Macao, with concrete historical evidences presented in these valuable academic monographs, as a pivot of communications and exchanges between eastern and western civilizations. 9 books among the total 11 were in print in mid-March, and the rest will come out soon.

Guru’s Guidance to the World of Sciences is another book series that contains 3 collections of leading scientists’ lectures organized by the university since 2006. Its volume will expand in the future. Up to today, more than 100 well-know research fellows were invited to the university to impart their research contents and to inspire the young. These lectures open to Macao society, covered cutting edge issues about modern technology and the latest research findings, provided with public servants and people from different background in Macao opportunities to share quality educational resources with students and staff of the university. They helped elevating the overall appreciation of sciences. Since the 10th anniversary of the university, the compilation work of the lecture contents started and publications followed. The volumes of the collections were given away free to local schools and universities, government departments, and other Macao residents, as one more channel to know more about the world of sciences.

The university believes that in the future they will continue to make the best of various resources to develop quality education and research, to contribute to Macao society.
