MUST Teachers and Students Participated in the “Plum Scenery, Mysterious Beauty” Painting and Calligraphy Study and Exchange Program

From October 28 to 30, a delegation of 11 students from the Faculty of Humanities and Arts led by Guest Associate Prof. Wang Lan visited Macao Museum of Art and  participated in the “Plum Scenery, Mysterious Beauty -Higher Institution Painting and Calligraphy Study and Exchange program . ”

As parallel activities for the current exhibition “Plum Scenery, Mysterious Beauty - Collection and Works of Wu Hu Fan from the Palace Museum and Shanghai Museum”, Macao Museum of Art arranged two special events: “Plum Scenery, Mysterious Beauty – Symposium on the Connoisseurship of Wu Hu Fan” and “Higher Institution Painting and Calligraphy Study and Exchange Program”; more than a hundred experts and scholars from inside and outside Macau and teachers and students from cross-strait universities gathered at the museum and had an in-depth analysis and appreciation of Mr. Wu Hu Fan’s painting aesthetics, connoisseur methods, collection philosophy, transaction channels, and ingenious application of his expertise.

Students who have participated in the study exchange program expressed that the event would tremendously benefit them in their future studies; through the participation of the study exchange plan, they were able to conduct a profound exploration of Mr. Wu Hu Fan’s ingeniously elegant painting techniques and his outstanding painting styles and characteristics; additionally, the illustration and interpretations given by the experts have also helped the students to arrive at a more thorough understanding of the Mr. Wu Hu Fan’s painting commitments and his aesthetics, which, they believe, will bring significant inspirations as well as models that they can refer to for their future study, design and creation.
