Prof. Honggen Xiao, Professor and Assistant Dean of School of Hotel and Tourism Management of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. Xiao supervises doctoral studies and research, and facilitates learning in subject areas such as qualitative research methods, leisure and society, tourism and culture, trends and issues in global tourism, and theories and concepts in tourism studies. His research focuses on knowledge development, tourism and culture, leisure and society, and China tourism. He has been actively engaged in community services through sitting in committees and editorial boards of journals, reviewing for periodicals and conferences, organizing forums, and consulting for governmental/non-governmental organizations. He is Co-Editor of Encyclopedia of Tourism (Springer); Managing Editor of Journal of China Tourism Research (Routledge); Associate Editor of Journal of Destination Marketing and Management (Elsevier), and Leisure Sciences (Routledge); and Coordinator of UNWTO/PATA Forum on Tourism Trends and Outlook. He is also a Fellow of the International Association for China Tourism Studies.
