Testimonials from Graduates

Huang, Yafen

1909 Doctor of Philosophy in Tourism Management

For me, who is working for a doctoral degree, pursuing a doctoral degree is a stage of thought precipitation, theoretical sublimation and vision expansion. I am glad that I made up my mind to continue my study four years ago. Macao University of Science and Technology offers me a different academic atmosphere and a different culture. I am grateful for the free and rich academic environment that has created for its students, and for the help and guidance from all the teachers in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, especially for the guidance and support of my mentor Associate Professor Yang Zhang in my life, scientific research and teaching. I wish our university a brighter and brighter future.

Mai, Huiwen

2009 Master of International Tourism Management

Time has swiftly passed, and before I knew it, two years have gone by. I consider it a fortune to have been able to study at the Macau University of Science and Technology. Here, I have learned to be a researcher, to view and tackle issues from multiple perspectives, and to grow amidst difficulties and challenges.

I am especially grateful to my master's thesis advisor, Dr. Jing Liu. As a beacon on my research journey, she has provided me with immense care and academic support. I am thankful for my family and friends, whose companionship and encouragement have filled me with boundless courage. Looking ahead, I will adhere to the “Dedication to practical studies, Enhancement of knowledge, Ability and Quality” spirit of MUST, and persist in learning and exploring, striving relentlessly to realize my dreams.

Lin, Huiying

2009 Master of International Tourism Management

During the two years at MUST, I deeply understood what Wang Yangming said, "Pursuing aspiration is like heartache". When the ambition is firm in my heart, it is like a painful spot reminding myself at all times to keep it for a long time. Jerome Bruner said: "One of the most unique things in human spiritual life is that people will continue to go beyond the information given", and this is also the fascinating aspect of academic research. This is not an easy road, and I am grateful to my beloved mentor Associate Professor Tang Juan for her constant support, to all the friends in our group who grew together, to all the teachers for their wonderful classes, and especially to Dean Ben K. Goh for his great encouragement.

Zhou, Xiaoling

2009 Master of Hotel Management

Looking back on my study time at my alma mater, I feel that I have benefited a lot. The school provides us with a good learning platform. Teachers take academics as their career. They subtly nourish our academic character, exercise our learning tenacity in pursuing truth, and make us step firmly in the theoretical road. Particularly, I would like to thank my thesis advisor, Dr. Zhang, for helping me a lot in the process of my graduation thesis.

In the future, I will always keep in mind the school motto of “Dedication to practical studies, Enhancement of knowledge, Ability and Quality”, concentrating on my work, being down-to-earth and constantly, improving myself.

Finally, I wish my alma mater vigorous development and continued glory!

Zhang, Zihao

2009 Master of Hotel Management

Although it was a short period of time, two years of study in M.U.S.T. was still a transformative time in my life. M.U.S.T. has created a multidimensional and inclusive learning environment. During my time in school, I gained more and more professional knowledge and my way of thinking became more diverse. I would like to thank all the professors who have taught me so much and the bright and cheerful schoolmates I have met. Particularly, I would like to thank my mentor, Professor Zhang Yang, who not only gave me patient and informative teaching, but also provided me with valuable advice on my path to growth. The time I spent with M.U.S.T. was a lucky and happy time for me. In the future, I will always remember the school motto of " Dedication to practical studies, enhancement of knowledge, ability and quality" and carry the spirit of MUST into all the time of my life. Last but not least, I wish M.U.S.T. to be famous in the world with pupils all over the world!

2009 Master of Hotel Management

During my undergraduate period, I spent four fulfilling and happy years in University of Macau Science and Technology. In 2020, with great anticipation, I returned to the campus for my two-year graduate studies. Looking back on the road I have traveled, there are many things I am reluctant to part with. Regardless of the ups and downs of my learning journey, it has been a gift to me. I want to thank my thesis advisor, Ms. Feng Yan, for her tolerance and trust in my academic research. It has been a fortunate journey and I am grateful for all the lovely classmates I have met during these six years of study. Finally, I am thankful to myself that never gave up, the part of me that always tried to stay happy despite difficult circumstances. I will not stop moving forward and will strive to become a better version of myself. Lastly, I wish that MUST continue to flourish and make new achievements!

Chen, Muyan

1909 Bachelor of International Tourism Management

4 years ago, we had been asked by a teacher why we chose to learn International Tourism Management, and I didn't know how to answer it, but 4 years later, I am trying to answer that question again: Tourism can connect me to the world. I have become aware of my surroundings from the tourism perspective, which made me understand the impact of tourism on the economies of some developing countries, sad about manmade carving on the walls of the Forbidden City, and sigh the Host-Guest conflicts created by Over tourism ......

I am grateful to my parents for their sustained support, to my teachers who have been so generous in helping me study, and to my classmates who have worked with me to overcome the difficulties.

Finally, I wish teachers well in their work, and I wish students and myself a happy graduation! Remember: Never forget the original aspiration and keep always exploring.

Wu, Ziyue

1909 Bachelor of International Tourism Management

Over the last four years, I’ve built my college life around two goals: deeply explore my own field, and broadly embrace the colorful world. These words have led me to hone every skill that I haven’t been proficient enough, as well as to challenge every moment when I was not brave enough.

“My own field” refers to the MICE industry, which I’ve been passionate about since freshman. I kept exploring its charm and accumulate my knowledge base from both theoretical and practical endeavors: lectures by insightful professors and industry giants, competitions that requires teamwork and creativity, campus experience in college associations, internships and volunteering in various events... I love all of these opportunities offered by MUST, cultivating stronger determination to pursue my future career.

Outside the specific profession, I also enjoy collecting different colors of the world: a soprano member in the choir, a clumsy learner in the dance group, an anxious student in programming course, a flustered commentator of a robotic competition... Not only has it been fascinating to connect with versatile people, but also these dabbling interests allows me to refresh and enrich my original mindset, reminding me that we don’t have to be colorful ourselves, because the world is colorful enough, all we need to do is to hold the curiosity and embrace the diversity.

Gui, Ziyan

1809 Bachelor of Hotel Management

Studying in FHTM four years ago was a pure coincidence. I would have no approach to prove if my life would have been better if I had taken another path, but I can state with certainty that doing so has made my life fuller and more meaningful. The mark of the excellent education we received here is not only the new knowledge frontiers we reach, but of the existing viewpoints we reconsider. The act of listening to something we might disagree with is not one of conciliation but rather of devotion to the truth. Engaging with those who hold profoundly different perspectives threatens not to betray our beliefs, but to broaden them. I believe we can all work to improve things by finding methods to listen to one another with compassion, concentrating on attaining our common goals, and making an effort to consistently remind one another of our shared humanity.

He, Zhiqing

1909 Bachelor of Hotel Management

Four years of time is like a grand firework, gorgeous but short. Fortunately, I made treasured memories in the fleeting spark. The abundant resources and platforms of MUST enable me to roam freely in the academic world. The curriculum of the faculty also gives me many opportunities to explore the stories that belong to me and Macau. Such a wonderful and unforgettable campus life is I have never imagined before entering the school gate.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to every professor I have met in MUST for your tireless guidance and help me make continuous progress. I am grateful to my family for providing me with the greatest support and encouragement at all times. Finally, I would like to thank my friends who have spent the university years together with me, wish you all a bright and prosperous future!

Ye, Jiaying

1909 Bachelor of Hotel Management

Four years ago, I entered the campus with a dream and passion to start a new life journey. In these four precious years, MUST has provided me with abundant resources and a broad platform. My teachers taught me professional knowledge, helped me to make breakthroughs in my studies, and stimulated my infinite curiosity about life. My friends and I have long stood shoulder to shoulder and make progress together!

Graduation is not the ending. However, it is the commencement of the continued series of upward steps to future success. Here I wish that all the graduates of MUST have a bright future. I hope that all students of MUST can believe in themselves, try their best and always pursue the pace of progress. I also wish my Alma mater stay true to our founding mission and forever brilliant.

Dong, Jiaming

1909 Bachelor of Food and Beverage Management

As graduation approaches, I can't help but reflect on how quickly time has flown by. It seems like only yesterday that I was a curious and inexperienced child, eager to learn about the world. Over the past four years, I have had the pleasure of making many interesting friends, learning from excellent teachers, and gaining a deep understanding of my chosen industry. Through internships and practical experiences, I have had the opportunity to explore my career path and develop a sense of purpose. Looking back, I am proud of how far I have come and am excited for what the future holds. Today, as I fulfill a long-standing dream, I am filled with hope and determination. I know that the road ahead may be filled with challenges, but I am ready to face them head-on, using my past experiences to guide me towards a bright and fulfilling future.

Zhang, Yanhui

1909 Bachelor of Food and Beverage Management

In my previous education for more than 10 years, I was asked to give the "right" answers. But during my four years at MUST, I was taught to "be yourself". Confidence, dialectic and innovation were three words that crossed my whole university life, making me break the fixed impression of myself again and again, and become an independent, free-thinking youth.

Thanks to MUST, I have not only seen a richer world outside of books and frameworks, but also been taught to have the courage to face challenges and changes.I know that I have a long way to go, and it is full of challenges and uncertainties. It is okay to be scared, we just have to do it anyway.

Finally, I offer my most sincere thanks to all those who have helped me on my academic journey.
