MUST 18th Anniversary Events
Secondhand Clothing Culture in Tokyo and Fashion Tourism Development Seminar

Professor Miki Sugiura from Hosei University in Japan came to MUST on March 2 to hold a seminar on Secondhand Clothing Culture in Tokyo and Fashion Tourism Development for teachers and students of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Professor Miki Sugiura began the session with Japanese fashion culture and analyzed its relationship with the trend of fashion tourism and the impact on the innovation of urban historical districts from two aspects: the development of the Japanese fashion industry and the secondhand clothing market. Through a great deal of conceptual exploration, picture displays and case studies, students learned that Japan's fashion industry has extensive connections with tourism and tourism products, which enriched their understanding of the diversity and variability of tourism product supply and expanded their knowledge and vision. After the lecture, the students conducted discussions with Professor Sugiharu. The performance of the students reflected good academic literacy and was affirmed by Professor Miki Sugiura at the end of the session. This seminar is sponsored by Macao Foundation.
