During 13th – 15th, March 2018, Huali ZOU, a master student from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, was invited to participate in the Asia Pacific Youth & Sustainable Tourism Workshop staged in the United Nations Building, Bangkok, Thailand. UNESCAP, (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific) associating with PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) and GYLA (Global Young Leaders Academy) set the stage for peace by empowering youth for the future of travel and tourism industry at this Workshop, which aimed to inspire young generation to take the global tourism development into consideration, apply the theoretical knowledge into practical experience, so as to make contribution to the progress of U.N. SGDs (Sustainable Developing Goals).
Supported by Global Peace Foundation and UNESCAP, the workshop called for state officers in Asia-Pacific region, experienced entrepreneurs and indie producers in tourism industry, talented professors and youth students in tourism education to gather in U.N. Building of Thailand to join this interactive workshop. All the representatives have shown great passion during the discussion and shared brilliant ideas with our delegates. Miss Huali Zou delivered a speech on how to apply the latest technology in tourism industry to empower sustainable tourism with knowledge and innovation, meanwhile to promote win-win growth in the tourism industry. This workshop not only has introduced young generations what is happening in tourism industry nowadays and what the future trends are, but also provided a good chance for several commercials and indie entrepreneurs to share their opinions on how to combine knowledge with practice.
