Professor Pang Chuan, Vice President of Macau University of Science and Technology and Dean of Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, paid an official visit to three higher education institutions Southwest Minzu University, Sichuan Normal University and Sichuan Tourism College in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province from 31st May to 1st June. The delegation included Ms. Amy Chu, Vice Dean of FHTM and Dr. Zhang Yang, FHTM program director.
The delegation exchanged ideas with the three institutions on educational and academic research management, discussed about the collaboration potentialities and signed MOUs with them. The delegation shared experiences and information on education management, curriculum design and practical-skill cultivation with the three institutions and discussed with them the cooperation intentions in the fields of hospitality management, tourism planning, food and beverage and culinary arts. Meanwhile, the delegation also exchanged opinions with the three institutions on research collaboration, teacher/student exchange program and the possibility to co-organize academic conferences. Then the delegation toured around the campuses, visiting the academic buildings, libraries, museums, professional technology training centers, culinary lab centers and food research centers. At the end of the visits, on behalf of FHTM, Vice President Pang Chuan signed MOUs with the three institutions respectively, on exchange programs for students and teachers, collaboration in research, cooperation in teaching and practice, etc.
This official visit has enhanced mutual understanding and academic exchange between MUST and three Sichuan institutions, and has laid a solid foundation for further and deeper cooperation in teaching and research in the foreseeable future.
