To celebrate the new academic year, FHTM hosted two events to welcome the new teachers and new students. The first Faculty Meeting of academic year 2018-2019 was held on August 30 in room N221. And a New Student Orientation was held on August 31st in D Hall.
40 teachers and administrative staffs attended the Faculty Meeting. FHTM Dean, Professor Pang Chuan, started off the meeting by giving a warm welcoming speech to all teachers. Vice Dean (Admin.), Ms. Amy Chu also gave a warm welcome speech to the new teachers for joining the faculty. Ms. Chu summed up the progress report of last academic year and announced a few new excited arrangements for the new academic year. Each new teacher gave lecture demonstration. A group picture was taking after the meeting.
At the FHTM Student Orientation, over 420 teachers and students attended the event. First, the FHTM Student Union sang a song to welcome all the new students and wished them for a great new start. Both Dean Professor Pang Chuan and Vice Dean Amy Chu delivered a sincere welcoming speeches; with valuable suggestions and wonderful wishes to the new students. Dr. Jose Wong introduced the faculty teachers one by one. The president of student union, Li Sihui, introduced the student union and membership related matters.
After the student orientation, the students were invited to attend the Program Orientation session held by Program Directors.
