Professor John Ap, Visiting Professor of Insititue of Tourism Studies, the leading organizer and his team explained how it was necessary to engage in research exchange to foster network among tourism and hospitality faculties within the Greater Bay Area. Introducing the inaugural event, Professor Ap said it was necessary to create an informal setting where researchers can freely meet and share their various research activities. He also stated that, there would be an opportunity for different universities and faculties to host the event in subsequent years. It is hoped that after this successful inaugural event, the tourism research exchange will continue annually as part of enhancing research activities within the Greater Bay Area.
