FTHM teams won the 1st and 2nd places at the “2019/2020 Macao Tertiary Institution Students Conference Challenge”, held by Macau Convention & Exhibition Association on July 25, 2020. The supervisor is Assistant Professor Jose Wong. The top two teams will represent Macao to participate in “2021 Asia MICE Youth Challenge”.

Over 10 teams from various universities and colleges in Macao participated in the challenge this year. After the two rounds of competition-preliminary elimination and final presentation, the judging panel composed of influential local entrepreneurs and experts voted “Smart City Macau -Look forward to the Future” proposal from FHTM as the 1st place, and the 2nd place was the proposal of “2020 Macau International Gastronomy Forum” from FHTM.
The Youth Committee of MCEA encourages students to think creatively and innovatively, in order to bring in new elements and unique ideas to the MICE industry of Macao. This competition also provides a better understanding of the MICE industry operation and improves their team spirit by requiring students to produce a feasible business proposal with concerted efforts through this competition. Through this conference challenge, students got opportunities to know about the practical operations in MICE industry and apply the knowledge they learned into the practical business proposals. The winners will also have the opportunity to communicate with overseas youth representatives to broaden their vision. FHTM will actively encourage students to participate in other practical events and competitions, and cultivate talents combining theoretical knowledge with practices in the future.
