Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Macau Chapter 2021 Annual General Meeting was held on June 27, 2021 at Hotel Royal Macau to share the latest development trends of the tourism industry as well as future plans of PATA Macau Chapter, and elect new committee members of the association. Macau University of Science and Technology was elected chairman of the Executive Committee in Pacific Asia Travel Association Macau Chapter.

The meeting was convened by Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Chairman of the General Assembly of Pacific Asia Travel Association Macau Chapter and Director of the Macau Government Tourism Office. She introduced the development of tourism industry in Macao from 2020 to May 2021. Recently, due to the impact of the epidemic in Guangdong and the requirement of a negative nucleic acid test result within 48 hours for immigrants, the number of visitors to Macao has reduced. She hoped that with the COVID-19 epidemic under control in Guangdong, the number of tourists visiting Macao increases and the tourism and hospitality industry in Macao gradually recovers.

Professor Ben K. Goh, Dean of FHTM representing M.U.S.T attended the 2021 annual general meeting. As the Chairman of Executive Committee in Pacific Asia Travel Association Macau Chapter, under the leadership of the Macau Government Tourism Office, supports all members of the association, he hoped that M.U.S.T can organize and participate in future PATA activities and events that can cultivate a new generation of talents with multiple skills for Macao and other regions, aiming to position and develop Macao as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.

The new committee members of the Pacific Asia Travel Association Macau Chapter are as follows: Hotel Royal Macau representing as the Chairman of General Assembly; Air Macau Company Ltd. - Vice Chairman of General Assembly; and Cotai Travel - Secretary of General Assembly. The Macau University of Science and Technology - Chairman of Executive Committee; Macau International Airport Co. Ltd. - Vice Chairman of Executive Committee; and Macau Government Tourism Office - Secretary of Executive Committee. The Venetian Macau Ltd. - Treasurer; and Vacations International Travel Service (Macau) Ltd. – member. Finally, Shun Tak China Travel Ship Management (Macau) Ltd. - Chairman of Supervisory Board; Macau Institute for Tourism Studies - Vice Chairman of Supervisory Board; and MGM Macau - Secretary of Supervisory Board.
