Prof. Yang Xiaoyang, President of China National Academy of Painting, Discussed the Spirit of Traditional Chinese Painting with MUST Students

Organized by Faculty of Humanities and Arts, MUST, and supported by Macau University of Science and Technology Foundation, Art Research Association of China, China Art Weekly and China National Academy of Painting, the forum “China National Academy of Painting and MUST students” were held in the morning of December 17th, 2014. Prof. Yang Xiaoyang, President of China National Academy of Painting, was invited to the forum to talk about “The Spirit of Traditional Chinese Painting”.

Before the forum, Prof. Yang had a meeting with President Liu Liang, Vice President Chen Xi, Vice President Tong Ka Lok and Executive Vice Dean Zhang Zhiqing of Faculty of Humanities and Arts. During the meeting, President Liu Liang introduced the recent development of MUST, especially the research objective and achievement of the laboratories of MUST. Later, Prof. Yang was awarded the letter of appointment as academic adviser for Faculty of Humanities and Arts.

The forum was hosted by Prof. Zhang Zhiqing, Executive Vice Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Arts. Attendees included Deputy Director Zhang Xiaoguang of Department of Culture and Education (Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau S. A. R.), Deputy Director Zhang Shenju of Coordination Department (Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau S. A. R.), Chief Leong Nga Tou of The UNESCO Centre of Macau (Macau Foundation), Chief Counsel Mi Jian of Policy Research Office (Macau S.A.R.), guests from various communities and more than 100 students. In the forum, Prof. Yang introduced the history of China National Academy of Painting to the guests and students, and shared with them his personal experience. The students were very interested in the stories of Prof. Yang, thus, in the Q&A section, students were all very much engaged and started to ask questions one after another, which were all answered patiently by Prof. Yang.
