Prof. Li Zhaoxing Visited MUST, Wishing Mainland and Macau to Engage in Continuous Academic Exchanges

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the 11th National People’s Congress and Honorable President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, Professor Li Zhaoxing paid a visit to Macau University of Science and Technology in the afternoon of January 21, 2015. He was warmly welcomed by President Liu Liang, Senior Vice President Zhang ShuGuang, Vice President Chen Xi, and Administrative Officer of the Rector’s Office Kwong Ying Wa.

At the meeting, President Liu Liang gave an overall introduction to the University’s development and scale after Macau’s returning to its motherland, the characteristics of the faculties, and the institutes and research centers of the University, and made brief summary of the main scientific research development and achievements of the University over the past years. President Liu noted that the University would continue upholding the policy of basing its development on teaching and research, attaching equal importance to both “quality” and “innovation”, fully exerting the University’s strengths, and advancing the University’s excellent teaching and research to new height.

Prof. Li Zhaoxing gave high praises to the educational achievements of MUST and expressed hopes that mainland and Macau would continue to engage in academic exchanges and make bigger progress.

After the meeting, Prof. Li visited the MUST State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine and the MUST Lunar and Planetary Science Laboratory - the first partner laboratory of the Key Laboratory of Lunar and Deep Space Exploration, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
