Liaison Officers in Macao Leads MUST Leadership Team to Visit National Ministry of Education

Deputy Minister Pu Hai Long and Director Hong Bo from the Culture and Education Department, the Central People’s Government Liaison Office in the Macao SAR led a team of eight administrative and academic leaders of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) to pay a visit to the national Ministry of Education (MOE) on Febuary 2nd, 2015. This visiting MUST leadership team cncluding Chair Professor Liu Liang, President, Professor Zhang Shu Guang, Senior Vice President, Professor Chen Xi, Vice President, Dr. Tong Ka Lok, Vice President, Professor Pang Chuan, Associate Vice President and Administration Officer Mr. Kwong Ying Wa, and was received by a group of MOE’s high-raking officials, including Mr. Zhang Donggang, Director of Social Sciences Department, Mr. Zhao Lingshan, Executive Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office, Mr. Han Jun, Deputy Inspector of Higher Education Department, Ms. An Yan, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office, Mr. Yan Bingchen, Director of Foreign Educational Program Office, Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Mr. Huang Xuanping, Project Officer of the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office, and Mr. Xu Qingsen, Deputy Director of Planning Division of Social Sciences Department.

At the meeting, Chair Professor Liu Liang, President of MUST introduced to all the overall development and research achievement of MUST in the recent years and expressed the determination to continue to fulfill the university’s mission and educational purposes, to actively implement the policy of equal importance to teaching and research, to diligently adhere to the core values of “quality” and “innovation” , and that with an unwavering commitement to excellent education and outstanding research, MUST will be able to better serve the community and promote internationalization. And then vice presidents reported respectively on topics concerning MUST like the strategic plan for future development, the campus infrastructure projects, financial management, students’ campus life and student enrollment in Mainland China, etc.

Mr. Zhang Donggang, Director of Social Sciences Department, MOE, highly recognized and praised the great progress and delightful result that MUST has achieved and noted that they would continue to support MUST’s growth. He also hoped that a lot more talents could be cultivated in the SARs and the country as a whole with further enhanced collegiate cooperation between the Mainland and the Hong Kong and Macao SARs.
